Why Are Blogs Good

A blog is a simple but revolutionary way that content is presented to the world. Before blogs and websites for that matter the media controlled every aspect of life. Now people can start blogs for free, express themselves, get ahead in life and have a great time doing it. Blogging is as much a journey of learning knowledge as it is anything. When we are in school for example we work and learn then in the end all that we learn we forget and all of that work that we did on paper goes in the waste paper basket. With blogging on the other hand much of our work is saved in this surreal time capsule that people will interact with in real time for years to come. In most cases if the feed is preserved our work may last many times our lifetimes which is a phenomenal feat. One day there will be cyber archaeologist finding all of these blogs on the old Internet. I think fundamental in the blogging experience is communication, collaboration, and creativity. As bloggers we must communicate with the world, know who reads our sites, and exchange info with our friends all across the social media world. As bloggers we must collaborate with other bloggers, and people of all professions, walks of life and experiences to create something bigger and better than just reality itself. And finally as bloggers we must be creative. In our journey to crack the code to making a good blog we must remain who we are and ultimately create something that we our selves would actually use. The blogger's journey is that of one of utility. Bloggers enter the blog for a reason and readers read and join the community for a reason. When the motivations are in synergy the result is an extremely successful blog. And when the blogger is not up to energy the readers will not meet in this online space with the same energy. Blogs are good for all of the same reasons books, film and art are good. Blogs allow others to be stimulated, imaginative, and excited. Blogs make people laugh, cry and be angry. A blog is ultimately a thing of emotion. We are not just a collection of lonely souls staring into cyberspace but a united community no different than anything of real people meeting for a drum circle, or for cups of tea. Blogging is much like that we pass words, information, and knowledge much like a drum circle passes rhythm and a tea party passes sweet tea and conversation. At the end of the day we are both bigger than this world and immersed in it. Blogging makes us feel alive. When we see hundreds of people collaborating on YouTube we know this is what the philosophers since the beginning of time had been talking about, and it has come now and we are every day taking blogging into the future. Blogging is us and we are one.

How Do I Start a Business

Starting a business is an empowering act. People who collect pay checks are slaves to the company rather than the customer which is much more fulfilling. When the pay checks stop many people go homeless and suffer even more. The great advantage of starting a business is that many times people can sample part time what it takes to own their own business while their work, and as their business draws a profit they can wean themselves from wage slavery. With the inception of the Internet communication is sped up and promotion is both free and easy. We live in a world that is brought together online, in virtual cities. We email each other, we cheer each other on and we enjoy life online. The Internet is much like a live video game where real money can be won instead of fake points. Digital real estate is at an all time high and is more integral to a business then is a listing in a phone book. Some good business starter resources include:

1. The Small Business Association has a great starter tip pages involving what it takes to get into business.

2. My Own Business is a virtual business walk through.

3. Entrepreneur is an online business upstart news mag.

How Can I Make Money From My Website

Websites can be tricky to monetize and may take many tweaks to start seeing a return for your hard work. In many cases traffic can be a major currency in a ppc world, and sites enabled for commerce (Magneto and Network Solutions) can become gold mines online. People interact with your content. Content can be monetize through affiliate links (Commission Junction) and can generate money in a non intrusive integrated way. Another ways of monetizing written content includes in text advertising (Kontera). In text advertising is a great pay per click solution that does not take up valuable site space that can be used for better purposes than holding big banner ads. Also forums and message boards because their run deep get totally monetized top to bottom with in text advertising. Getting your blog or website sponsored (Blogging Sponsorships) is another great alternative to making money online. When website owners and sponsors work together the situation cuts out the middle man and the games that advertisers and sponsors must play. As a result the terms change but most blogs that get sponsored must also maintain a high level of professionalism, traffic, and results or they may end up just sticking banner ads in the sponsor slots. Some bloggers get a lot of money through cyber begging (Pay Pal). There are many people online willing to make a donation to great sites that have for instance taught them something or gave the web a valuable service. Monetization and marketing go hand and hand. For instance most people who are monetizing their website must promote their brand. The perfect solution for website promotion is Twitter. Twitter is an online social community centered around micro blogging that has so much built around it that twitter is a marketers dream because of its traffic driving properties. Twitter like most social media can be monetized as well (Twitt Ad). Twitter accounts are really worth gold in the online marketing world. Video marketing(YouTube) is another effective way of bringing in traffic and brand building. Remember to accurately tag the videos and leave a URL link with the video. If most bloggers did a daily vlog talking about their best article of the day and linking to it they would experience much more traffic than had they not. Video advertising also is highly viral and connects with people on a personal level. Many other monetization and marketing strategies exist please tell us about your favorite way to make money online.

Why are Social Networking Websites Bad

Social networking websites like anything else are both good and bad. Social networking sites are good in the fact that they are constructive outlets for people's time. Social networking is as much a journey in knowledge as it is fun. With the increased distribution of smart phones, micro blogging instant messaging communities, and the growing demand for communication will make these social communities important information highways bar none. Online marketers are able to leverage online social networks to get profits, students get jobs, and people connect. The possibilities are endless. But there online social networking sites like everything else in life carry a certain risk. Bad things have happened because of them and will continue to happen. Bad things happened before social networks arrived and will happen after. A major problem in social networks is that people let their guard down. After all the theory goes why not give my personal contact information to the world 'everyone else is doing it.' I think we have all been there. I will be the first to confess that my face book page told me more about myself than I had told anyone. The anonymity of the social networks is more apparent than real. All information gets out. Putting personal information in these place can cause major issues and is the equivalent of standing out on the street in New York City and handing out your social security number, address, birth date, name, age, likes, or anything. Because people put themselves out there in social communities there is a tremendous ability for emotional abuse. The Internet is more crowded than any city on earth and these highways there is much road rage. Anyone who has a profile up has had a friend, acquaintance , or stranger make them feel bad. I think it is important to educate people to not take others so seriously as much of this trolling of online social communities has shown to make people very sad. I personally believe that the good that goes on in online networking sites outweighs the bad, and the amount of money that is made in social media ensures that it will never go away. When people attack others in blogs and social media I have found usually the problem lies in the instigator who many times has issues. At the end of the day we do not regulate everything and that is particularly true online. What are your opinions on this?

CPC Advertising Networks

CPC or cost per click advertising is an effective way of monetizing a website. Generally cpc ads work best in the content, or above the fold but there is no rule and all sites monetize differently. Because cpc pays per click many times people accidentally click the ads. When people click by accident, the advertising companies will not give the publisher anything at all. Google AdSense a popular pay per click company has many ads that are arbitrage or go to suggested sites. Both cases tend to not pay until the second click or even some kind of conversion. This is very typical in pay per click. Fortunately for most power ppc publishers the difficulty in monetizing the click diminishes as the ppc companies expand the click zone, give these people unique advertising deals, and allow these people to break the terms of service in many ways. This all comes down to economics that when people first sign up for ppc they are in a pool of millions of ppc users and only after they earn the trust of the company are they allowed the newest and the best. Google adsense as of lately has been very innovative from its flipping between picture, search, and text ads to the inclusion of floating ads and even according to rumors pop ups as well. There are many ppc companies out there but google AdSense is one of the best. The advertiser competition is high which maximizes click value, and the google AdSense ads are on powerful servers that do not slow down the site speed unlike many of its competitors. Many of the top marketing guru's have stated that people can make more money not relying exclusively on AdSense (John Chow) and that AdSense is better than people think but is also very limiting in many ways(Shoe Money). AdSense has many alternatives and exploring them is never a bad thing. Online advertising is extremely innovative and in many cases AdSense is not a good pick for many sites. An example may include that a person for example likes to have an arrow pointed to the ads and write click here now. This practice for most publishers is a flagrant AdSense terms of service violation but there are many AdSense alternatives where doing this is fair game. Many publishers also have content that violates AdSense terms of service and have no choice but to use a different company. Many critics of pay per click advertising say that usually the publisher gets the least money of the three parties. Other critics often state that many ppc companies are less than honest in their reporting and keep money from the publishers. AdSense is fairly good at giving people the money they report and is an established company that will not go out of business for a while. I am not here to say that any ppc critics are wrong because they make excellent points. Most sites with good traffic and content can call advertisers and just get direct advertising and wire money irregardless of click. This situation usually makes a website much more money then does typical ppc advertising and is highly desirable. Another complaint about ppc is that when a blogger is trying to sell ad space if they have ppc advertising on their site the advertisers are less likely to want the ad spots. A solution is to just use an affiliate company and fill the spots with square banners but that does not hide the fact that ppc does compete with other advertisements on the site and with the content of the site itself. Many marketers claim that ppc dilutes the site because it offers out bound links that decrease conversions in affiliate marketing or commerce fields for an ecommerce site. This may be true though I do see many ecommerce sites that also have google AdSense for instance and many of their top publishers are actually commerce sites that have successfully experimented with google AdSense. How do you feel about ppc advertising networks?
